Workshop: Digital Security Best Practices for Caribbean Journalists
11th April 2025
The Committee to Protect Journalists, in partnership with the Caribbean Broadcasting Union and the Public Media Alliance, is offering an online workshop on digital security best practices.

Caribbean journalists and media workers are invited to register for an upcoming workshop, delivered by the Committee to Protect Journalists, on Digital Security Best Practices. The event is being coordinated by the Caribbean Broadcasting Union and the Public Media Alliance.
It comes amid a rise in digital security threats to journalists in the region, and follows a presentation-based journalist safety event in February, which considered the regional context and experiences of Caribbean journalists.
This 90-minute workshop, run by Ela Stapley at the Committee to Protect Journalists, is intended to provide journalists with the practical tools needed to protect themselves and their sources digitally. It will cover protecting your personal online data, secure forms of communication, and spyware. Journalists will learn how to mitigate the risks of digital threats, including from legal requests for data and online abuse.
Journalists and media workers in the Caribbean are invited to fill in this short survey, which is intended to gauge safety needs and concerns in order to inform the content of the webinar.
