To all members celebrating the arrival of 2016, the PMA team would like to wish you the very best for the year ahead.
There are plenty of predictions for the New Year regarding media technology and audience preferences but what will this mean for those involved in public media?
The Public Media Alliance continues to provide insight, information and updates about what’s happening in the public media space worldwide. This year our General Conference, will be held in Montreal, Canada, alongside the annual Public Broadcasters International [PBI] meeting hosted by CBC Radio Canada. The PMA day is scheduled for 14th September and the PBI event will take place on the 15th and 16th. This means that CBC Radio Canada is aiming to host the most significant global meeting of those interested in public media for many years. We hope to see you there.
Where better to be in springtime than Paris and if radio interests you then Radiodays Paris is the place to be in March! We are partners for the event, which will take place on 13th-15th March with 120 speakers, 55 sessions and 60 exhibitors. We have some free passes available to our paid up members. Why not apply for one of our Travel Bursaries to attend [maximum £1,500 towards flight and accommodation]? You can find out more about our passes and Travel Bursaries here.
In the coming weeks Update will bring you news of our current research project and a new password protected area on our website, available only to members. Titled ‘Views and Voices’, this new domain will curate texts, audio and video of those who are debating the future of public service media worldwide.
You can sign up to our newsletter Update at the bottom of this page.
We all look forward to working with you in the year ahead.
