On behalf of the Board of Directors and in collaboration with the management, she is launching and is responsible for a strategy and organizational development process. The priority for the Director General is a company-wide transformation, which is being carried out under the name “Enavant SRG SSR”. “Enavant” means “forward” or “further” in Romansh. The strategy and organisational development process is based on various factors. It is the entrepreneurial duty for the SRG to carefully and far-sightedly adapt to a changed financial framework.

Planning factors include the gradual reduction of the media tax in accordance with the Federal Council’s ordinance adjustment, significantly declining advertising revenues and rising prices. The SRG expects to have to save around 270 million francs by 2029, which corresponds to a budget reduction of around 17 percent. In addition, the changing use of media and international competition make an adjustment process necessary for the company.

“Enavant SRG SSR” is the biggest transformation in the company’s history to date. The process is new in terms of approach, depth, complexity and speed. For example, budget reductions are not distributed exclusively among the corporate units, but the company is viewed as a whole. The questions are: which offering strategy the SRG will use to align itself with the demands on public service media of the future, how the audience will continue to be offered added value; what structures and processes the SRG will need in the future how it will organise cooperation within the corporate units; how it will use technology; and how the transformation will succeed within the given time frame.

I stand for an SRG that is forward-looking and flexible, but at the same time reliable” – Susanne Wille, Director General of SRG SSR

Susanne Wille stressed that the SRG must act quickly. That is why, as Director General, she has now initiated the start of the strategy process after the analysis since her election and in consultation with the Board of Directors and the management. Susanne Wille also mentioned that the SRG will provide transparent information as soon as the key figures are clearer – first to employees and then to the public.

An SRG in the service of society

Other priorities of the new Director General are the programme and the dialogue with the public and politicians. Susanne Wille wants to get involved in the ongoing political process for the halving initiative and demonstrate the social added value of the SRG. “I stand for an SRG that is forward-looking and flexible, but at the same time reliable,” says Susanne Wille. She is committed to an SRG that offers quality and to a media company that belongs to everyone.
