The Group Chief Executive Officer of South Africa’s SABC, Lulama Mokhobo, is to deliver a keynote address at AfricaCast, a conference on the future of broadcasting, to be held in Cape Town on 12-14 November 2013.

Mokhobo, who is on the CBA board, will talk about “Understanding How Triple Play is Impacting on African Broadcast Revenues”. Her presentation will cover:

  • The role of triple play in creating new revenue streams for African telcos
  • Analysing triple play infrastructure, how can this be reinforced
  • Delivering content that is reliable for the consumer
  • Developing a strong customer base to enhance long-term revenue streams

Triple play” is the delivery of TV, broadband and telephony over a single broadband connection.

Now in its third year, AfricaCast’s organisers say that the show has evolved to reflect the fast-moving changes transforming the broadcast industry in Sub-Saharan Africa. To this end the show will give dedicated focus to the multiplatform opportunities. Companies from OTT and Social TV sectors from around the world will be presenting their knowledge to discuss the future monetising opportunities for multiscreen entertainment in Africa.

The programme will include local content case studies, particularly looking at digital switchover success stories.

Regstration is still open, and African broadcasters may qualify for free or discounted access. Find out more
